Helping Australia's rebuilding

Company life • 13.02 2020

What happened in Australia?

Since September, bushfires in Australia have caused the death of 33 people, destroyed 3 000 homes, and razed forests and farmlands to the ground. The equivalent of Bulgaria has been devastated. Today, the rain has helped to extinguish the Australian wildfires, but it is not over yet. The time has come now to rebuild. This doesn’t only mean building new houses or bridges. It is also about helping to rebuild the wildlife.

Rescuing wildlife

According to the World Wide Fund for Natural Australia, around 1.25 billion animals have lost their lives in the fire. We cannot resuscitate those who lost their lives, but we can certainly bring our help somehow. That is why we decided to act with WIRES (Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.), an Australian wildlife rescue organization. WIRES has been rescuing and caring for wildlife for over 30 years and its mission is not only to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife but also to inspire others to do the same.

About the initiative

We believe that everyone can help to save our planet in their own way. That’s why the CE+T Group launched an action to invite employees to contribute to this cause by making donations. The Group then offered to give the same amount as the one collected by the employees.

Similar to the campaign in September for Amazonia, this action is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program. Not only is this a noble contribution but, at CE+T, we are all convinced that it is by acting that we can make a difference and initiate change. We also believe that these changes will benefit both our planet and the future generations.
