Duration: minimum 3 months with the possibility of extension
Start Date: To be determined with the student
Application Deadline: 30/09

Overview

CE+T Power is offering a unique thesis internship opportunity for a Master’s level student in electrical engineering. The project focuses on the development of a robust sliding mode control for a high-frequency DC/AC power converter. This role is ideal for students passionate about power electronics and control systems.

Thesis Description

The aim of this project is to develop a low-cost digital “Sliding Mode” current control of a DC/AC power converter with a high switching frequency (>70kHz).

As a first step, and in order to understand the state of the art in this type of control, it will be necessary to carry out documentary research and gather information from the various CE+T Group subsidiaries.

Next, a study of the cost and robustness of the various solutions will enable us to select the control mode to be implemented.

Finally, a prototype including a hardware and software control design will be produced and tested on “Hardware In the Loop” simulation equipment.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program with a focus on electrical engineering, control systems, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in the principles of power converters and control theory.
  • Keen to learn both hardware design and software development
  • An internship agreement is not mandatory, offering flexibility in terms of academic collaboration.

Offer

  • Engage in groundbreaking research with direct applications in the energy sector
  • Work alongside experts at CE+T Power with the possibility to conduct part of the thesis at Texas A&M University
  • Gain hands-on experience in an industrial setting, enhancing both technical and practical skills.
  • A dynamic place of work, where interns are integral team members
